Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-26
This document is pending review by counsel and may change before the AxisAI launch.
In short: AxisAI is a markets news and AI reader app run by Axis Global Tech Limited in Hong Kong. We use an install identifier, your settings and your reading activity to build your daily edition, and, if you create an account, your email to run it. What you type to Ask AxisAI is sent to AI model providers (DeepSeek, with Google Gemini as a fallback) to produce an answer. We use Firebase Analytics and Sentry to understand usage and fix crashes, we show no ads, and we do not sell your data. You can delete your account in the app or by email.
This Privacy Policy explains how Axis Global Tech Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong ("Axis Global Tech," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the AxisAI mobile application for iOS and Android (the "App") and our website at https://axisai.so (together, the "Services").
By using the Services, you acknowledge you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Key principle: We collect the data reasonably necessary to operate, personalize, secure, and improve the Services. We do not sell your personal information, we do not show advertising, and we do not use your data for advertising.
1. Scope and Important Notes
1.1 App and Website
- This Policy covers the App and the website at https://axisai.so.
- The App works without an account. Some features, including Ask AxisAI, saving articles across devices, and reading past the daily free limit, require an account.
1.2 What AxisAI Is
AxisAI delivers market news, trend summaries, audio briefs, and an AI reader ("Ask AxisAI") that answers questions about the news. AxisAI does not hold money or assets, connect to a wallet, execute trades, or provide brokerage services. We do not ask for your financial account details, balances, or holdings.
1.3 Third-Party Services
The Services link to third-party news sources and use the third-party providers listed in Section 6. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in two main ways: information you provide, and information collected automatically when you use the App. Some information stays on your device and never reaches us; Section 2.4 lists it.
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account and Sign-In Information: if you sign in, we collect your email address and, where your sign-in provider supplies it, your name. You can sign in with a 6-digit code sent to your email, with Sign in with Apple (on iOS), or with Google. When you use Apple or Google, we receive the email address and name that provider shares with us, and we may store a profile picture link if Google provides one. We do not use passwords.
- Display Name: a name you set or edit in the App (up to 64 characters), used to label your profile across your devices.
- Questions to Ask AxisAI: the messages you type, together with the rest of each conversation. See Section 4.
- Search Queries: words you type into search, used to return results.
- Text You Look Up: when you select text in an article to see a plain-language definition, the selected text is sent to us without your install identifier or account, and we do not store it against you.
- Communications: information you include when you contact us, for example a support request or a deletion request.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Install Identifier: a random identifier created when you first open the App, stored on your device, and sent with requests so we can deliver your edition and remember your settings. It is not an advertising identifier. On Android it is excluded from device backups.
- Device and Settings Data: your device locale (based on the country and language you choose), time zone, platform (iOS or Android), and your feed settings, such as language, muted topics, explanation level, tailoring, summary length, and the audio brief setting. We use these to choose the language and delivery time of your edition and to apply your settings on each of your devices.
- Reading Activity: how long you read an article, how far you scroll, articles you like or mark as "less like this," which highlighted terms you tap, audio brief progress and completion, and which trends you open. We use this to rank and personalize your edition.
- Saved Articles, Follows, and Ratings: articles you save, topics and assets you follow, and ratings you give.
- Push Notification Token: if you allow notifications, a device token that lets us send your daily notification through Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Account Identifier: when you are signed in, a pseudonymous account identifier that links your install to your account.
- Analytics Data: the App includes Google Firebase Analytics, which automatically collects standard usage events (such as first open, session start, and screens viewed) under a Firebase app instance identifier. We do not add our own events to it, and we do not link it to your account.
- Diagnostics Data: crash reports and performance data sent to Sentry in release builds. Sentry attaches its own per-install identifier. We have configured Sentry so that it does not record your IP address.
- Sign-In Log Data: our sign-in service records the IP address and device user agent of each sign-in session, and its access logs record source IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.
2.3 What AxisAI Learns About You ("Memory")
When you are signed in, AxisAI derives short statements about your interests and preferences from your conversations with Ask AxisAI and from your reading activity. These statements are used to personalize answers and news. You can see them in the App under "What AxisAI knows about you," remove any single one, clear what was learned, or reset everything. When you remove a statement, its text is deleted and a blank marker is kept so the same statement is not learned again.
2.4 Information That Stays on Your Device
The following are stored only on your device and are not sent to us: notes you type into your feed memory, your chosen currency, your recent searches, and the Android install referrer. Your chosen country and language stay on your device except as part of the device locale described in Section 2.2.
2.5 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone input, financial account details, or government identifiers.
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 Provide, Maintain, and Secure the Services
- Create and manage your account, authenticate you, and maintain your sessions.
- Deliver your daily edition, audio briefs, trends, search results, and definitions.
- Answer your questions through Ask AxisAI.
- Keep your saved articles, follows, and settings in step across your devices.
- Send the notifications you have allowed.
- Enforce usage limits, prevent abuse, and protect the Services.
- Respond to your requests and communications.
3.2 Personalize the Services
- Rank and select news for your edition based on your settings and reading activity.
- Tailor Ask AxisAI's answers using your conversation history and what AxisAI has learned about you (Section 2.3).
- Where enabled, rewrite an article's wording for you using a short, automatically written note on why the story is relevant to you. The facts in the article do not change.
3.3 Improve Performance
- Understand how the App is used, in aggregate.
- Diagnose crashes, errors, and slow sessions.
3.4 Compliance and Enforcement
We may use information to comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms, detect and prevent fraud or abuse, and protect the rights, property, and safety of Axis Global Tech, our users, and others.
4. AI Features and Automated Processing
4.1 Ask AxisAI
When you send a message to Ask AxisAI, we send the following to an AI model provider to produce the answer: your message, recent messages and summaries from your conversations, your stated preferences, what AxisAI has learned about you (Section 2.3), and the article or trend on your screen. The primary provider is DeepSeek. If DeepSeek is unavailable, the request goes to Google's Gemini API instead. Your conversations are stored so you can return to them under "AI History." You can remove any conversation, which deletes its messages.
To add current information to an answer, our service may also search for news and fetch prices and exchange rates from third-party data providers. These requests contain topics and asset names chosen by our service, not the text you typed.
4.2 AI-Generated Content
Articles, summaries, explainers, headlines, and audio briefs in the App are written or narrated by AI models (DeepSeek and Google Gemini) from published news reports and market data. The App labels this content as AI-generated.
4.3 Automated Personalization
The ranking of your edition, the statements in your Memory, and any per-reader rewording are produced automatically. They do not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. You can remove learned statements, reset your Memory, and change your feed settings.
5. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK and Similar Jurisdictions)
Where required by applicable law (including the GDPR), we process personal information on one or more of these bases:
- Contract / Service Delivery: to provide the Services you request, including your account, edition, and Ask AxisAI.
- Legitimate Interests: to personalize, secure, maintain, and improve the Services, prevent abuse, and diagnose crashes (balanced against your rights).
- Consent: for push notifications and, where required, for analytics and device permissions.
- Legal Obligation: to comply with applicable laws and lawful requests.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with data brokers. We share information only in the limited circumstances below.
6.1 Service Providers
These providers process information on our behalf to run the Services:
- Cloud Hosting and Infrastructure: Amazon Web Services (AWS), which hosts our services and databases and sends our sign-in emails (Amazon SES).
- AI Model Providers: DeepSeek and Google (Gemini API), which receive the content described in Section 4 to generate answers, learned statements, and article content.
- Analytics: Google (Firebase Analytics).
- Push Notifications: Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and Apple (Apple Push Notification service).
- Sign-In Providers: Apple (Sign in with Apple) and Google (Google Sign-In), when you choose them.
- Crash Reporting and Performance Monitoring: Sentry.
We do not share your personal data with these providers for their own marketing purposes.
6.2 Content and Data Providers
We obtain news and market data from third parties, including Twelve Data for market prices, and news search services. We do not send them your personal information.
6.3 Legal, Safety, and Security
We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with law, regulation, subpoena, or court order.
- Respond to lawful requests by public authorities.
- Protect the security or integrity of the Services.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, or illegal activity.
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of Axis Global Tech, our users, or others.
6.4 Business Transfers
If Axis Global Tech is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
6.5 With Your Consent
We may share information when you explicitly consent.
7. Tracking and Advertising
The App shows no advertising and contains no advertising software. We do not link your data with data from other companies for advertising or advertising measurement, and we do not share it with data brokers. The App's iOS privacy manifest declares that it does not track you.
On iOS, the App asks for permission under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework when you first open it. Whatever you answer, we do not use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Firebase Analytics collects the usage events described in Section 2.2 automatically. The App does not yet offer an in-app setting to turn analytics off. You can limit it through your device's privacy settings, or contact us.
8. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable and industry-standard safeguards designed to protect information, which include:
- Encryption in transit.
- Storing your sign-in credential in your device's secure storage (the iOS Keychain, and encrypted storage on Android).
- Short-lived access tokens (24 hours) and one-time sign-in codes that expire after 5 minutes.
- Access controls, rate limits, and monitoring.
No system is completely secure. You are responsible for safeguarding your device and your email account.
9. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business and legal purposes.
- Account information (email, name): kept while your account exists, and deleted when you delete your account (Section 11).
- Your content and activity (conversations, saved articles, follows, ratings, settings, reading activity, and learned statements): kept while your account exists, unless you remove it sooner in the App. Section 11 describes what account deletion removes.
- Sign-in sessions: a session lasts up to 30 days unless you sign out sooner.
- One-time sign-in codes: expire after 5 minutes.
- Sign-in service access logs, which include IP addresses: kept for three months.
- Deletion markers: after you delete your account, we keep your pseudonymous account identifier for 48 hours so an unexpired session cannot recreate the account, and then remove it.
- Analytics and diagnostics data: kept according to the retention settings of Firebase Analytics and Sentry.
- Communications with us: kept as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up.
We may retain information longer where required by law, to enforce agreements, or to resolve disputes.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to receive a copy of it in a portable form.
You can exercise several choices directly in the App:
- Edit your display name on the Account screen.
- Remove a conversation from AI History.
- Remove learned statements, clear what was learned, or reset everything under Memory.
- Change your feed settings, unfollow topics and assets, and remove saved articles.
- Turn notifications off in your device settings.
- Sign out, or delete your account (Section 11).
For any other request, contact us at contact@axisglobal.io. We may need to confirm that the request comes from the owner of the account.
11. Account Deletion
You can delete your AxisAI account in the App (Profile, then Edit, then Delete account) or by emailing contact@axisglobal.io. Our account deletion page at https://axisai.so explains the steps, what is deleted, and what is retained.
When you delete your account, we delete your account and sign-in records, your saved articles, follows, and account settings, your conversations with Ask AxisAI, and the reading activity and push tokens recorded for the installs linked to your account. The App also clears your saved data on that device and replaces its install identifier. Deletion of data held by our news and AI services is completed shortly after your request, not instantly.
Some information is not removed by account deletion today:
- The statements AxisAI learned about you (Section 2.3). To remove them, use "Clear all" on the Your Feed screen and confirm "Reset everything" before you delete your account, or ask us by email.
- The basic record of each install (its locale, time zone, and platform), which is unlinked from your account, and any install never linked to your account.
- Sign-in access logs, analytics, and diagnostics data, which are kept for the periods in Section 9.
12. Children's Privacy
The Services are not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at contact@axisglobal.io and we will delete it.
13. "Do Not Track" Signals
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. The Services may not respond to DNT signals in a uniform way because there is no consistent industry standard. We do not sell personal information and do not use your data for advertising.
14. International Users
If you use the Services from outside Hong Kong, your information will be processed and stored in other jurisdictions, which may have different data protection laws than your location. Our services run on AWS in the United States, Japan, and South Korea. Our AI model providers process the content described in Section 4 in the countries where they operate, which for DeepSeek may include the People's Republic of China. Our other service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post updates and revise the "Last Updated" date above. Material changes may also be communicated through in-app notices or other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
