Delete Your AxisAI Account

This document is pending review by counsel and may change before the AxisAI launch.

In short: You can delete your AxisAI account in the app in about a minute, or without the app at https://auth.axisai.so/delete-account, or by emailing us. Deleting your account is permanent. It removes your account, saved articles, follows, settings, and conversations with Ask AxisAI. A few records are kept for a limited time or are not yet removed automatically, and they are listed below.

This page explains how to delete an account for the AxisAI app, operated by Axis Global Tech Limited. Our Privacy Policy is at https://axisai.so/privacy.

1. Delete Your Account in the App

1.1 Steps

Open AxisAI and make sure you are signed in to the account you want to delete.
Tap the Profile tab.
On the card that shows your name and email, tap Edit. This opens the Account screen.
Tap Delete account.
Review the list under What gets deleted, then type DELETE in the confirmation field.
Tap Delete account.

1.2 If the App Asks for a Code

For your security, deletion needs a recent sign-in. If you last signed in more than 24 hours ago, the app sends a 6-digit code to your account's email address. Enter the code, and the deletion continues without asking you to type DELETE again.

1.3 After You Delete

The app signs you out and returns to the home screen. It also clears your saved articles, follows, ratings, language choice, and sign-in details from that device, and gives the app a new install identifier. If you keep notifications switched on, the app may still receive the general daily notification. To stop it, turn notifications off in your phone's settings or remove the app.

2. Delete Your Account Without the App

Go to https://auth.axisai.so/delete-account and sign in with the email address you use for AxisAI. We send a 6-digit code to that address; enter it, then type DELETE to confirm. This deletes your account the same way the in-app flow does.

If you cannot use that page, email contact@axisglobal.io from the email address you use to sign in to AxisAI, with the subject "Delete my AxisAI account". If you signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email, tell us the address you see in your Apple ID settings under Sign in with Apple.

We may ask you to confirm that you own the account before we delete it by email. We will reply by email when the deletion is complete.

3. What Is Deleted

Your account: email address, name, the Apple or Google sign-in linked to it, and all sign-in sessions.
Your saved articles, followed topics and assets, and account settings.
Your conversations with Ask AxisAI, including every message.
For each device install linked to your account: its reading activity, push notification token, delivered editions, and usage-limit records.

Deletion of your account and sign-in records happens when you confirm. Deletion of the data held by our news and AI services follows shortly afterwards, as a queued process that is retried until it completes.

4. What Is Retained

What AxisAI learned about you (Memory). Account deletion does not yet remove these statements. To remove them before you delete your account, open Profile, then Your Feed, tap Clear all, and confirm Reset everything. This also resets your followed topics, muted subjects, and reading level. If you have already deleted your account, email us and we will remove them.
Install records. The basic record of each install (its locale, time zone, and platform) is unlinked from your account and kept. Activity from an install you used without ever signing in is not linked to your account and is not removed.
Deletion marker. Your pseudonymous account identifier is kept for 48 hours, so an unexpired session cannot recreate the account, and is then removed.
Sign-in access logs. Logs that include IP addresses are kept for three months for security.
Analytics and crash data. Usage events in Firebase Analytics and crash reports in Sentry are not linked to your account and are kept according to those services' retention settings.
Legal requirements. We may keep information longer where the law requires it or to resolve disputes.
